he Maharashtra government has officially announced major changes to the scholarship examination pattern. Starting from the 2026–27 academic year, the Maharashtra Scholarship Exam 2026 will now be conducted for Class 4 and Class 7 instead of Class 5 and 8.
This new structure aims to increase participation and support meritorious students across the state.

The Maharashtra Scholarship Exam 2026 brings changes that benefit both students and schools:

- First exam for Class 4 & 7: April–May 2026
- Last Class 5 & 8 exam: February 2026
- The revised structure applies from the 2025–26 academic year

- ₹5,000 per year – Class 4 Scholarship
- ₹7,500 per year – Class 7 Scholarship

- 16,693 scholarships at the primary level
- 16,588 scholarships at the upper-primary level
Each scholarship remains valid for 3 years, helping students continue their education with financial support.
Eligibility for Maharashtra Scholarship Exam 2026
Students studying in:
- Government schools
- Aided & unaided schools
- Permanently unaided schools
- Self-financed schools
- CBSE, ICSE & other recognised boards (conditions apply)
Age Limits (as of June 1):
- Class 4: Max age 10 years (14 years for disabled students)
- Class 7: Max age 13 years (17 years for disabled students)
This ensures fair opportunities for students across all education boards in Maharashtra.
Maharashtra Scholarship Exam 2026 Fees
- ₹200 – General category students
- ₹125 – SC, ST, NT, DT & disabled candidates
- ₹200 – Annual registration fee (paid by schools)
The reasonable fee structure allows maximum participation.

- The Class 4 scholarship exam will be conducted along with Vidyaniketan entrance tests
- Class 5 & 8 exams will be conducted one last time in 2026
